Pursuant to the Agreement between City of Trebinje and NMAqua Banja Luka, our team created a database in a very short time for the needs of the Department for Communal Inspection Affairs, City of Trebinje, for the use and interpretation of which Free and open-source software (FOOS) was used. Quantum GIS-a (QGIS).
The work was completed on time, although during the work on the creation of the database additional needs arose, that is, the user's requirements were expanded beyond the contracted work, and everything was successfully implemented.
So, after the implementation of the tasks, which included the training of employees in the Department for Communal-Inspection Affairs of the City of Trebinje, the presentation of everything done in the Quantum GIS program was practically carried out.
In the course of implementation, the following services were performed and databases formed:
– Public lighting - about: public lighting poles, lamps, measuring zones, transformer stations, records of electricity consumption, records of money spent on electricity;
- Urbanism - Within the database are: regulatory zones, address register, display of buildings, subdivision plan, cadastral municipalities, database for UT conditions and location conditions;
- Precipitation system - the database contains: drainage grids, drains, storm sewer covers, storm drains;
– Additional databases: balls-planters-ramps, containers, buckets, benches, playgrounds, maintenance of city cleanliness;
- Traffic - the database contains data on: traffic signs, traffic poles, traffic development strategy, lying police officers;
– Greenery: created databases for public green areas, vegetation and maintenance of public areas and vegetation;
- Condominium owners' communities - according to the available data, a database was created containing the locations of ZEVs with associated data, a database of ZEV tenants was created;
- Communal fees and charges - a database was created on the locations of issued communal fee solutions, communal fee solutions;
- Tenants - a database of tenants was created;
- Auxiliary layers - data about settlements, local communities and roads in the area of the City of Trebinje loaded into the database.
In addition to all department heads and their assistants in the city administration, the mayor of the city of Trebinje, Mr. Mirko Ćurić, attended the presentation of the completed part of the work "Formation of databases" in QGIS.
Speaking after the presentation, Mr. Ćurić pointed out that, looking at the presentation, this program, which is also free, will provide long-term work relief to all employees of the city administration. "It is necessary for the city administration to be seen and function as a single body, and this can be done precisely by connecting the databases as presented by the expert team "NMAqua" from Banja Luka, as well as the employees of our department, who have invested a huge effort and energy to get such an excellent result and the possibility of easier, more precise and timely action", said Mayor Ćurić. He also emphasized that "the work is not finished yet, because the participation of other departments and the continuation of cooperation in a work that is significantly more worthwhile" is expected, and that he hopes that after the complete implementation of the program, in addition to the City of Trebinje, other local communities will understand the importance and need for realization of the same.
Our team will continue part of the work started in the Department for Communal-Inspection Affairs, City of Trebinje, during 2024, with the announcement of the need to expand the work for other departments of the city administration.
