Based on the Agreement on the performance of the service of measuring and detecting losses on the water supply installation between "NMAqua" s.p. Banja Luka and "POSLOVNA ZONA" a.d. Banja Luka, works on inspection, control and flow measurement were performed. Measurements were performed at hubs determined on the basis of the need to consider uncontrolled leakage of water from water supply installations.

Flow measurement
The first and necessary procedure in determining failures and uncontrolled losses in the water supply network was to determine the quantities, ie the flow of water in certain parts of the network.
In addition to continuous and synchronized monitoring of the condition of the water meter, through which water consumption is calculated for all consumers in the BUSINESS ZONE, continuous flow measurement was performed with ultrasonic flow meters
During the control and tour of a certain group of consumers, as well as on the basis of the obtained information, the flow measurement at the inlet was performed for consumers who are supplied without a measuring device (water meter) in the off-site position, where there was such a need.
Creating a schematic representation of the network (cadastre)
Also, for the needs of this project of measuring and analyzing the condition of the water supply network, it was necessary to make a schematic presentation of the water supply network and connection installations outside the facilities.
The locations of the installed water meters are indicated on it, as well as the measuring points where the flow measurement was performed. The purpose of making an overview map is a clearer view of the state of the network and in order to more easily understand the measurement results, and to precisely determine the priorities of rehabilitation works, ie to eliminate deficiencies in the same.
Network control by noise analysis method - correlation
In order to ensure safety and more detailed inspection and control of the water supply network, and since only significant flows were shown on two branches, first a visual inspection was performed, and then the control of the network and connections by noise recording method.
This method is also known as correlation, which compares the noise on the pipeline between two points on the pipeline, with a noise recorder - correlator.
Geophone water supply network control
After this check, on all parts of the network where any increased frequency of sound was felt by the correlation method, the network was inspected by listening to noise on the ground with acoustic sound detectors - geophones.
Thus, geophones, as the final method of testing faults in the water supply network where increased noise intensities occurred, examined parts of the network that goes on an unpaved surface.

Parts of the network at the crossings were also inspected, and on that occasion no faults were noticed, which confirmed the correctness of this part of the water supply installations.
Pressure control
The correctness of the water supply network, ie shortcomings in terms of the existence of losses on the same, is proven by measuring the pressure in one water supply system. As a confirmation of correctness, the pressure was measured at two measuring points.

The hydrant on the main city pipeline in the immediate vicinity in front of the "Business Zone" was determined for the first measuring point, and the second in the circle of the "Business Zone". The results showed that there is no deviation in the pressures, which once again confirmed the correctness of this water supply system.
Based on the review, control and measurement, the report lists all the shortcomings that were observed in terms of oversized water meters in some businesses, the lack of water meters in a number of consumers who are charged at a flat rate. Also, the differences in water meter readings that occur are very small losses, which are in accordance with the IWA (International Water Association) methodology and are called inevitable losses and they cannot be located, so the sanitary consumption on the hydrant network was noticed, which is not verified on the water meter.
All these shortcomings were presented to the management of the "Business Zone", which must be eliminated in order to avoid unnecessary losses.
